Register your establishment for the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme
You can use the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme to offer a discount to diners and encourage them to eat at your restaurant. You can use the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme:
- all day, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 31 August 2020
- to offer a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, to diners for food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in
- to claim the money back from the government
In order to run the scheme, restaurants need to register with the government from July 13 until August 31. Those that are registered will be able to claim the money back between August 7 and September 30, with reimbursements set to reach restaurants within five working days.
Only restaurants that offer dine-in service will be eligible to register. This means there will be no discounts available for takeaway-only restaurants, mobile food vans or private catering services. Chain restaurants with more than 25 locations will not need to register them individually, but can do so in one application.
